Last Thursday, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York took part in the press conference announcing the lineup for the fourth Summit of the Millennium Hotel, which will be held from April 20 to 22 and she is the godmother to the hotel City of Montreal.
“This international event brings us together and makes known the fate of the most vulnerable,” she said. “I agreed to be the godmother because it is time to stop using the words. It’s time to act. It is through our actions and as a team we can make a difference. ”
Activist for nearly 20 years, one who claims to be “the voice whispers silent” has agreed to support Daniel Germain, president and founder of the Millennium Summit in Montreal, she knew there was invited last year, lecturer.
“Do not let the restrictions of bureaucracy we stop doing what they should do,” she said. “It was five years. We must roll up our sleeves. ”
The Millennium Summit of Montreal is an event that aims to make the fight against poverty is everybody’s business and accommodates the main actors of social commitment from governments, civil society, academia and cultural as well that great humanitarian organization.
Al Gore and Kristin Davis as headliners
The program this year, three events essential, are the Experts Forum, the Youth Forum and the Conference general public.
Among the novelties, the National Forum will be held April 20. A day of speeches busy, moderated by journalist Jean-François Lépine, during which we will discuss, among other strategies to reduce poverty across Canada and the concerns of civil society about the issues and G8 G20.
On April 21, in the Forum experts, climate justice and the challenge of water will be discussed. The same day, comedian Patrice Bélanger host the youth forum. Philippe Cousteau, son of Jacques-Yves Cousteau and president, CEO and cofounder of EarthEcho International will be among the speakers.
Finally, April 22 to hold the public lecture, staged this year by Denis Bouchard. Among the speakers have already confirmed their presence include the Honorable Al Gore, actress and ambassador for Oxfam International Kristin Davis Laure Waridel and Steven Guilbeault, co-founders Équiterre and Sarah Ferguson.
