The postal authorities in Australia have unveiled Thursday a new series of stamps bearing the image of Russell Crowe to celebrate the launch of Robin Hood, his new movie directed by Ridley Scott.
The stamps, which will delight his fans, we can see Russell Crowe in his clothes from Robin Hood. On one, the actor is shown walking through Sherwood Forest while on the other, we see pulling the bow.
A spokesman for Australia Post said that the series highlights the talents and contributions of Crowe film “The film is of general interest and we thought it appropriate to pay tribute to this great actor producing a series of stamps bearing the image of Robin Hood. ”
The long-awaited film will have its premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, May 12 next, before being on display around the world, two days later.
This is the second time that the actor 46 years receives the honor to be immortalized on postage stamps. In 2009, the postal service of Australia had launched a series of stamps depicting Russell Crowe, Geoffrey Rush, Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, all Australian actors.
Note that Crowe, born in New Zealand, officially became an Australian citizen in 2006.
