British singer Robbie Williams has married his girlfriend, actress Ayda Field, during a private ceremony Saturday in a house in Los Angeles, said Sunday the British media.
Robbie Williams, 36, had wanted to keep secret details of the ceremony till the last moment.
Several tents were planted in the garden of the star in Beverly Hills, according to photos published in several newspapers.
“Rob is finally happy,” said Pete Conway, the father of the singer, the British tabloid News of the World.
“That’s what everyone wants for his children and he is as happy as I’ve never seen,” welcomed the British, who came from Stoke-on-Trent (central England) where a Robbie Williams grew up.
The partners of the singer in the band Take That, warned at the last moment could not go to the ceremony but sent messages, the newspaper said.
The singer met the actress, now aged 31 years in 2006 and proposed to her last November during a live broadcast on Australian radio, the newspaper said.
One of Britain’s most famous singers on the international scene, Robbie Williams has sold over 65 million albums in fifteen years.
He had separated from the group Take That in 1995 after having sold 15 million records. The singer and the group officially announced their meeting last month.
